After the lavish celebrations in Jamnagar this March for the upcoming Ambani wedding, the prominent Indian industrial family is planning a second pre-wedding celebration on a Mediterranean cruise.
Anant Ambani, 29, the youngest son of billionaire Mukesh Ambani, one of the world's wealthiest individuals, will marry Radhika Merchant, also 29, daughter of industrialist Viren Merchant.
Approximately 300 guests, including notable figures like Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh and cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni, have reportedly been invited to join the cruise, which sets sail from Palermo, Sicily, on Wednesday.
According to an invitation viewed by India Today, the picturesque voyage will travel through the Mediterranean, arriving in the Italian Riviera town of Portofino on Saturday. The theme for the pre-wedding celebration is "La Vite è un Viaggio," meaning "Life is a Journey."
The itinerary includes themed events on the ship, with stops in Rome and Cannes.
Cruise Itinerary:
The journey begins with a welcome lunch on Wednesday in Palermo. The first themed event, "Starry Night," requires guests to dress in western formal attire. The ship then docks in Rome for an excursion, followed by another themed party onboard called "La Dolce Far Niente," which means “the sweetness of doing nothing,” with a retro dress code.
Next, there will be a toga party where guests are to wear Greco-Roman costumes and sandals.
On Friday, a party will be held in honor of Veda, the daughter of Anant's brother Akash and his wife Shloka Ambani, celebrating her first birthday. The event is called "V Turns One Under the Sun," with a "playful" dress code. A masquerade party will follow as the ship docks in Cannes.
An after-party themed "Pardon my French" will also be organized on the same day, before the cruise concludes in Portofino with the "La Dolce Vita" finale party. Throughout the excursion, a strict no-phone policy will be enforced.
This cruise takes place nearly three months after the first pre-wedding event for the highly anticipated Ambani wedding, which is set for July.
